Omg a fellow cozy lit hater... tipping my hat hahaha. Also: I don't read to be comforted. I read to be entertained. I've thought about this too regarding my knee jerk dislike of the cozy genre and yeah, it doesn't stoke a fire for me at all. I also don't find it comforting so much as disconcerting because cozy/comfort usually arises after conflict? But I also love depressing lit, so I'm probably not the audience anyway! I would like to understand the value of them more eventually...
